View Ridge

View Ridge is a young neighborhood, established in 1936. As its name suggests, View Ridge boasts views to the east of Mount Rainier and Lake Washington. For those east of 50th Avenue Northeast, there are also views of the sunrise over the Cascade Mountains. There is a high demand for property here and the property value reflects that. This neighborhood is located north of NE 65th, east of 40th Ave Northeast, and west of Sand Point Way NE. It is near Sand Point Country Club, with its homes and golf course to the north, and Magnuson Park, which lies to the east near the former Sand Point Naval Air Station.

View Ridge is a small neighborhood, tucked away on the hill with its quiet streets, sidewalks and neatly-groomed yards. It has many active churches and community groups, as well as strong community support for View Ridge Elementary School, which was started in 1944.

View Ridge is the high point between Wedgwood (west) and Hawthorne Hills (south). There are no utility poles and power lines; wires were buried underground in the late 60's on both sides of Northeast 65th. This neighborhood is supportive of families, and features community centers in nearby Laurelhurst and Ravenna.

View Ridge is located near the University of Washington, Husky Stadium, the University Village shopping center, Lake Washington, Magnuson Park, Eckstein Middle School and Roosevelt High School. Also, there are a few local playgrounds--View Ridge Playground is located west of the school, and Bryant Park occupies the block across from Northeast 65th Street.
